Speaker is Lamar Gore, longtime manager of the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge, on “The place of Nature in the City”.
Gore has worked for decades at this refuge near the airport, focusing on environmental education with local school teachers, also with Philadelphia neighborhoods to create green space, including their habitat gardens.

Speaker is Benjamin Leavenworth, officer of Afina Int’l. Topic: Chile and Philadelphia — a 200-year partnership.
Benjamin has over 20 years of professional experience in Latin America, from governmental roles to entrepreneurial ventures and finance. He is a founding partner of Afina and is primarily focused on managing and developing the firm’s relationships. Benjamin also serves as Honorary Consul of Chile in Philadelphia with a jurisdiction that includes the states of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and southern New Jersey.
Prior to co-founding Afina in 2011, Benjamin founded Chispa Group LLC, an international consulting services firm, where he was involved in many different sectors and consulted on multi-billion dollar mining, energy, agriculture, and government projects.

Speaker: Buntzie Ellis Churchill, distinguished local scholar and commentator on Foreign Relations.
Her topic: Whither Europe? Declining birthrates and the influx of migrants.
Mrs. Churchill will discuss the changing demographics in Europe, due to declining birthrates of ethnic Europeans together with dramatic increases in immigration, including their future implications.
A graduate of Philadelphia’s Girls High School and Penn, Buntzie served for 23 years as President of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, hosting dozens of world leaders, ranging from Mikhail Gorbachev and Margaret Thatcher to Henry Kissinger and George W. Bush.
A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, she has served as a trustee of many non-profit organizations and has received several honorary doctorates.

Club member Michael Brooks will give an illustrated talk on “The Landscape of Memory.”
Much will be based on Philadelphia’s Laurel Hill Cemetery, declared a national landmark for its innovative landscape plan. Michael
has been leading tours of the cemetery, near the Schuylkill River, since 1970. His talk will be a visual walk through the cemetery, famous for imposing
monuments. His tours focus on topics such as Spiritualism in Philadelphia, local politics, and captains of industry.
